So let me tell you all about one mum. Sometimes I still have to close my eyes, take a deep breath (and a glass of wine) and realise this is my life; I’m a mum.
I’m a busy, stay at home mum trying to raise 2 very different little boys and 1 big man child. For the sake of this blog I will use their nicknames, Tink and the Pup (honestly he’s not a dog although, he sometimes acts like it).
Some facts about me:
- I live in Scotland next to a beach
- I love chocolate, wine and Skinny Tan
- My go to comfort meal is Spaghetti Bolognaise
- I hate people who park in parent and child but have no kids.
- My family is my life.
- My sister is my best friend.
- I have never died my hair.
- My eyes sometimes look green but they are actually blue.
- I come from a family of gingers. P.S. We rock.
- I apparently never answer my phone so my husband has started to turn the volume up when I’m not looking (I usually have it on silent)
- I once believed that the crunchy nut lane was a real thing (don’t judge me, I used to be very gullible)
Education:
I have a bachelor’s degree in Computing Science although I was never your typical computer geek.
Career:
I began my career in I.T. but life lead me to Resource Planning. Honestly, I LOVED this role. I got to forecast, analyse and schedule for a large company in Glasgow. If I hadn’t had my boys I’d still be there, probably as a Senior RP by now. One can dream. Instead, I have 2 beautiful boys; I’m a member of the Parent Council and Data Protection Lead for a local charity. Despite temporarily giving up my career I have a very full and happy life.
I decided to start this blog as a way of expressing myself and sharing my experiences.
Funny Fact about me…
The first interview I had was for GAP Clothing as an I.T. Analyst, or so I thought. Turns out it wasn’t the clothing brand but some plant garden type company. It was so embarrassing. What was even more surprising was that I got invited back for a 2nd interview so I must have done something right.
